Berlin Public Art Project
A birdfeeder that only opens its gates for European birds, and shuts them when a migrant bird is detected. An interactive political art piece first exhibited at Volkspark von Weinberg, and then at the Kunsquartier Bethanien Art Center.
Running BirdNet, a machine learning library for bird song detection, on a Raspberry Pi 5 with a Google Coral TSB accelerator chip.

Process
Kyle and I were lucky to be part of the School of Machines this summer, studying computational and immersive art with Quinn Tincher , one of the two original founders of MeowWolf.
I felt especially lucky that my company, AidKit, allowed me to work remotely from Germany for two months, to complete the art residency during off-hours from work.

Feel so much love for all the wonderful people in the art program, and Rachel Uwa, the inspiring visionary, artist, activist, and organizer.

Happy Place
Making art and playing with creative code is my happy place!

What an amazing summer! So much gratitude to AidKit, Quinn and Rachel, and most of all, my dear partner in all things, Kyle Albasi.
